How's it going, WIPers? Here is a post to let us know how things are going, if you feel like it! This is purely optional, but it's a chance to cheer each other on as posting week looms.

I completely forgot that I signed up for this, because a totally different WIP has taken over my life. XD I hope it's okay to change projects! I started this new one around the beginning of the month and have about 40k done already lmfao.

I've been wanting to post a chapter of my current WIP, but I have no beta. It's a crossover though, so I figure at least one person will read it out of sheer curiosity.... *thinking emoji*

I think i am aiming to finish a different WIP than the one i signed up for but it was already a wip at the time so i think it counts??

As long as a fic is finished at the end of the process that was unfinished at the beginning, we do not care what fic it was. :D

If one of the crossover fandoms is MCU, you're welcome to come drop a comment at the MCU server! We might have someone there who knows the other fandom, too, and would be happy to help.

Thank you for posting i was just trying to remember what i had signed up for re: wip finishing. I of course have started a fully different story but i have some time off in early march so perhaps i will finish both current wip and the previous wip i was planning to finish??? :D

I 100% forgot this was happening! Idk if I'll get around to editing this draft in time or not, due to being majorly behind on other stuff, but at least I signed up with a complete draft & don't still have to write the thing. xD

That was pretty much how I started this challenge too. An almost complete draft that had been sitting around gathering dust for a while that I was going to finally get out there. Of course, then my beta pointed out a lot of places I needed more detail, so my 'almost completed draft' is now around a thousand words longer than it was.

My goals are to finish posting Adorableness, and to write and post the last two prompts in a table I wanted to finish.

I've written one of those prompts (it's a gift), and still have the second to write.

Adorableness is actually coming along pretty well. I've posted 7/15 chapters, with one back from beta and one I have edited and need to get the changes into the computer so I can get it to her. If you're interested, it's here:

My fic writing has been a lot of starts and stops. I'm not where I'd like to be w/r/t the fic I've been wrestling with.

OTOH, I did record one out of the three podfics, but I gotta edit it. And record the other two. This part of my sign-up might be completed. Or, maybe I'm just feeling ridiculously optimistic abt this over writing. :-/

I settled on the ending for the chapter revision I was working on, and sent it to my beta today. I'm *still* not totally happy with the final paragraph, but am hoping that with a pair of fresh eyes I'll get some insight as to what's missing.

The main fic I was determined to have done for this challenge is almost ready to go, depending on how many more times my beta has to tell me to use fewer semicolons. Although I was hoping I might also have a part 2 ready to go and that's almost certainly not going to happen. I have however started a new lengthy WIP so if this starts up again that might move into the prime spot.

Oh no, I'm totally late! I thought I had set email notifications for new posts to here but I guess I didn't. Done that now.

Things are going kinda slowly because I got really sick (not covid, just chronic illness stuff) but idk I'm actually writing a few words every now and then which is a big improvement on not writing anything at all, I think? I can't say whether or not I'll be able to finish in time. We'll just have to see lol

Very badly.

Not long after I signed up I was super pumped and wrote up the first chapter of five, which ended up a whole 15k, and I was super psyched to keep going... and then I had a big issue with my laptop charger that made it almost impossible to type. But apparently I have an unusual type of laptop so it took ages and multiple incorrect chargers (which made me feel super dumb for getting them wrong) to fix it. By which time I'd had enough free time to stew and ended up right back in the super bad mental health place I'd started writing the fic to avoid. Now I'm ready to write again but I'm right about to be super busy for two weeks, so I have 0 chance of getting it done on time.

I know it's just a fic and I can always just return to it once this is all over but man, I really thought the time we had to finish the fic would be more than enough and I was pumped to actually succeed at something for once, so it's not really helping the mental health stuff to have failed after all;;;;

Aww, but you have 15k now that you didn't before! That seems like success to me, even if you don't write another word.
