March progress post

Hi everyone! We're two months into the year, with four more months left to go in Crack the WIP. How have things been going? Had the chance to look at your WIP yet, maybe even get the engine started again?

I also wanted to celebrate some people who finished WIPs in February! We had two finished works posted to the collection:

• Soulmate Services Presents: Speed Dating! by celli (방탄소년단 | Bangtan Boys | BTS)
• The Final Chapter by Small_Hobbit (Spooks | MI-5)

Congrats to celli and smallhobbit on finishing! 👏

Anyway, let us know how your February was. Feel free to share a short/small snippet if you like. Also, feel free to encourage people in what they're working on too. (If someone is venting/complaining about their WIP, though, please don't assume they want advice unless they explicitly ask for some!) Also, as a reminder, sign-ups are still open.

Whoo, progress. I've been working slowly but relatively steadily on mine. Yay!
I've been doing my best to schedule regular writing sessions with a buddy so we can both get our writing projects done. Body doubling really helps! And ensures I don't spend that spare time doing something else. :P

Hi!
Progress is not going as well as I had hoped for. My Muse has been fickle with the fandom for which I have this WIP to finish, and I spent the majority of February writing ficlets for a whole different fandom. Ouch.

BUT I also got some new ideas that could make that WIP move forward more smoothly. Unfortunately that means discarding what little I had of Chapter 2, but I can totally afford scrapping 400 words. It's not a great loss if the new AU setting gets me out of my writing funk—which I hope! 😉

ETA: also, congrats to celli and smallhobbit! Way to go! 🎉

Been working on my chosen WiP on and off throughout February, and to my amazement, I've added somewhere around 7k. This is great, but somehow despite all that, I don't seem to be any closer to finishing it =/

I have looked at my draft. I have not done much else, busy with other writing. But hope to get work on it this month.

I added 461 words to the WIP that feels most doable to finish. Would love to finish it up in March! I think I have maybe 1-1.5k words to go?

I added 900 words to my WIP in February, which I'm counting as a win considering that prior to that I hadn't added any words since last June!

Sorry about the distraction from your WIP, but congrats on the ficlets! Hope scrapping Chapter 2 makes the way forward clearer!

Thanks, I'm amazed how much progress I made after being stuck for literally months. I ended up with scenes I hadn't expected. Now I'm trying to figure out the next bit, but so are my characters. They don't know what to do for the best. I'm sort of letting them work things through for themselves. Just hoping they come up with a workable plan of action!

I have passed the first hurdle on my efforts. I managed to get the files recovered from my old hard drive, now I'm spending an age of time going through the file dump that are no longer named/dated/catalogued the way they were. I have found at least some drafts of things I want to finish/put out as a stand alone prologue to maybe continuing to work on more; but it's going to take a while yet before I am sure what the latest versions were. But I'm also finding that I had a lot of things I'd forgotten about, so I may get more out of this; optimistic side.
